What’s the Use? An Event Without Purpose

One event in my life is when I broke my right wrist. I was not able to able to use my right hand because I had a cast all the way to almost my shoulder. What I had to do was to use my left hand because I still had to do work for my classes. The reason for why I kept doing this was because I did not want to waste time and not do anything, so I started to learn to use my left hand. I did not really have any other choice. My only other choice was to use ma broken hand as an excuse and not do anything, but that was not what I wanted to do. If I would have never broken my wrist, I would have never felt the need to use my left hand and I would have not learned to use it. While I was stuck doing this I felt as if I was learning to do things all over again. At first I felt a little frustrated, but with time I felt better and I got something good out of it.

The theory which I agree with the most is Aristotle’s theory. I also think that life would no be the same if you did not have a good friend. A friend is always there for you when you need them, and you can always trust them. When you are in a relationship there can sometimes be problems and arguments. When you have a good friendship, there are no problems, no worries, just enjoyment of the friendship.

What is Identity?

A self is a person’s identity which is located in their mind. To find yourself means you have found who you are. It is possible to find yourself, but it very complicated because the search for oneself is not easy. Time can change our identity and it is very probable that it does. It is possible that can be the same as some years ago, but usually we are not. Your identity is based more on what is in your mind. Your physical appearance is not as important as your mind because you would still be the same person if you lost a leg, but if you lost your memory you would not be. For me not to be me anymore, I would have to lose my memories. I would look the same, but I would not know because I would not remember, and I would also act differently. Our identity is not just a story we create, it is our life and that is who we are. The different events in our life just influence us, be we are still the same person. In reality, we decide who we are. Many think that we don’t because the people around us make us who we are, and that is true, but we also decide who to be with, therefore making our own identity. I am Francisco Guillen. My mind makes me “me” because I have always know myself to be who I am. Ever since I was born I have been Francisco Guillen. I know that is who I am because my mind tells me that is who I am. My memories allow me to know myself and to really know who I am.
